As our understanding of musculoskeletal injuries develops, we are finding increasing evidence that many of the soft tissue (i.e. tendon and ligament) injuries are due to long standing damage from repetitive trauma, as well as acute injury. Prolotherapy is unique in that it serves to treat this very phenomenon by injecting any of several irritant solutions into the damaged tissue, stimulating the body’s natural healing mechanism.

This process results in healthier, stronger tissue offering an extremely effective alternative to surgery for the treatment of persistent joint instability, ligament laxity, tendinosis, or other chronic damage to ligaments or tendons.

The precision of these injections may often be aided by ultrasound guidance. This can add to the safety and efficacy of the injections.
