Office Procedures
Unlike other primary care specialties, family medicine physicians are specifically trained in office-based procedures. These procedures are classified as medical interventions that are done in the office setting without the use of general anesthesia. Depending on the procedure performed, local anesthesia may be used. The family medicine physician makes it convenient for the patient to have certain procedural care performed in the comfort of his/her regular physician in a comfortable setting, often times performed on the same visit as initial presentation.The following are routine office-based procedures that are routine performed at Sports Medicine at Chelsea:
